Felting Workshops with Sara Smelt

Felt is the oldest textile known to man, but felting is the Cinderella of the fiber arts (not that crochet and knitting are ugly sisters... but you get my drift!). I think it’s high time felting got the spotlight it deserves! One of my favorite things is to see the faces of first-time felters as they see the magical transformation of wool roving into felt fabric. My workshops have been designed to appeal to all ages. There are workshops perfect for newbies and some that will enable more experienced students to expand their skills. My teaching style is hands-on and light-hearted. I love to laugh, I provide photo ‘cheat sheets’ so students can make notes for future use. Anybody can felt! Gorgeous results are guaranteed or I’ll eat my (felt) hat! I hope that after perusing this catalog and my website, you are tempted to ‘Give Felt a Chance!’. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or requests.
